My Take from Singapore

My Diary

7 November,2019
I remember that I was humongously excited for our departure from Ahmedabad at around 7 or 8 in the evening. We left Ahmedabad and had a halt at Chennai International Airport for four hours. We boarded the flight and reached Singapore, the greenest metropolis in the universe.
8 November,2019
After checking in at the Ibis hotel we rested for a few hours. Later in the day, we went to see the laser show, which was very pleasing after a tiring journey.
9 November,2019
After the breakfast we went to the NeWater Bottling plant where we were told about major water issues in Singapore. The Science Center was also amazing. The night safari was a place where we saw some rare flora and fauna of Singapore and other countries.
 10 November,2019
Finally, it was the most thrilling days of the journey. Going to the Universal studios was like icing on the cake. The Cylon roller coaster was very good. Although petrifying, ‘The Revenge with the Mummy' ride was the best one. ‘The Rapids Adventure' was not a great deal, but when our raft slid down towards the water my heartbeats had stopped.
11 November,2019
Sentosa was a wonderful place. I was the winner in the Luge ride. The one-way cable car was the part in which a few friends of mine were scared. We went to the Vivo city by a cable car. It is the biggest mall I have ever visited I even got lost there.
12 November,2019
Firstly, we went to the city gallery and after that we visited the Boeing center where we were taught about parts of an airplane went to the airport and started the return journey.

Where Passion and Possibilities Meet

The visit of a lifetime recounted by the students themselves. A kind of recollection of the various memorable experiences of the learners. Just a few incidents that will remain with the students all their life in the form of fond memories and nostalgic episodes. Here is an exhilarating reminiscence.

Our school organizes trips to different countries to make the children’s experience cultures of these countries. This year our school organized a trip to Singapore and I was a part of this trip, which was full of loads of fun. At first, I was nervous and afraid as it was my first foreign trip of all time, but thanks to the teachers who took good care of us. We left for Singapore on the night of 7thnov. 2019 and reached there the following day. We went to our hotel which looked luxurious. Two children had to share one room, so we all quickly chose our partners and freshened up. We paid a visit to many wonders while our stay in Singapore. My favorites include the Universal Studios, Sentosa Island and the Singapore Zoo- Night Safari. Our trip was an educational tour so places like the NEwater Bottling Plant, Singapore Science Center and the Boeing Center taught us a lot. I was surprised to know that Singapore acquires water in 4 different ways which are so much fascinating. These are rain water harvesting, new water or recycled water, desalination of water and importation of water from Malaysia. Other spots like the Merlion Park, S.E.A Aquarium, Luge ride, cable car and the Vivo city mall were an unforgettable memory. I enjoyed the trip a lot.

This trip included fun, adventure, sightseeing and education. It was unbelievable and  incredible to land in Singapore with my friends. It was for the first time that I was going abroad without my family. I was really excited. In fact, we were all eager to know about this wonderful place .We were enthusiastic and wanted to explore new and interesting things.
I was amazed at seeing how Singapore is succeeding day by day. Physically small but economically giant, this beautiful island is located in Southeast Asia. It came into existence in 1963.The government of Singapore had to struggle hard in the early days. The people belonged from different backgrounds and most of them were not educated. Despite its small domestic market and a lack of natural resources, Singapore successfully came out from financial crisis. Today, the Singapore economy is one of the most stable in the world, with no financial debt. Now, Singapore is a top tourist destination. The Singapore economy is mainly driven by experts in electronics manufacturing, financial services, tourism and the world's busiest cargo sea port. On the final daylight, a visit to the City Gallery explained the past of Singapore. Singaporeans grew by conserving their heritage. They kept important reminders of their land and struggles of their forefathers. It reflects their achievements in building Singapore. These conserved buildings and structures which gave this young nation a sense of history.I really cherished this trip.

Beyond Academics-International Dimension

In today's world, education cannot be limited to just classroom learning. Today’s student’ will be tomorrow's global citizens. They require a range of experiences and knowledge that will help them build the capacity to contribute to the development of a multicultural society.
In Delhi Public School-Bopal, we are encouraged to exchange ideas, knowledge and experiences. Learners not only get engaged in online exchange of knowledge but are also occupied in collaborative projects through Real Time Tech learning tools. Cross cultural exchange of thoughts and virtual communication at DPS-Bopal is just a click away! In a fast-shrinking world, it is imperative that the students and teachers get a chance to visit abroad as well.
National and international student and teacher exchange programmes are offered to students and faculty which foster understanding and acceptance of an array of different cultural and community perspectives. Precisely one such trip to Singapore has been organised from 7 November 2019 to 13 November 2019 and nineteen students and two teachers of Delhi Public School - Bopal will be travelling to this charming city.
This sovereign island city-state has surprises galore! From recycling plants to libraries, this education hub will prove truly beneficial as the students will get an insight into Singapore’s rich culture. They will get the opportunity to experience and understand a society different from their own.
Singapore is a diverse country with people from different backgrounds and a variety of different cultures. This is exactly what will help the students see the beauty of intermingling cultures. The way Singapore has combined all of its contrasts into one single flourishing community will also help the students understand international relations other than enabling them to build a deeper understanding of different morals, beliefs and traditions. This trip will give them a motley of fond memories and learnings that will stay with them all their life. This will help them become better global citizens.
